Total Spectrum Advertising, an ad and public relations agency based in Orange, will soon launch an advertising campaign for the Farmer Boys restaurant chain. An Inland Empire icon, Farmer Boys chose Total Spectrum to increase sales and help expand its business. The PR firm was given the nod by the restaurant chain after a detailed selection process that included several other Southern California advertising companies.

Ken Clark, Farmer Boys’ president, said, “After the final presentations, the decision to choose Total Spectrum came quickly. We felt that their senior-level advertising executives brought the most to the table, so to speak. They have the background and capabilities to deliver everything we need, from in-store messaging to broadcast, social media networking to online promotions and beyond.”

The advertising campaign for the 69-unit chain will begin in February. Total Spectrum reps hope to bring the extensive menu with award-winning burgers to other areas of the Western U.S. Jim Bogenreif, Total Spectrum president, said, “We are thrilled to be working with this exciting and growing chain. They have aggressive goals for the brand, and we hold to help them surpass those. For 30 years, Farmer Boys has been serving up incredible food in a fast/casual environment that’s truly unique in the industry.”

Children’s mouths dropped. Patrons cheered. And four of the five founders of the Riverside-based Farmer Boys restaurant chain smiled.

Farmer Boys restaurant chain celebrated its 30th anniversary Saturday by unveiling a 30-pound cheeseburger.

To help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the popular California chain, a 30-pound cheeseburger was unveiled today at the Farmer Boys on Ramona Expressway in Perris. “It freaked me out,” said 18-year-old Melissa Cazares, of Perris, when the mammoth burger was revealed. “I’ve seen (large hamburgers) on TV, but never in person. I didn’t know burgers could be that big. They managed to do it.”

In attendance at the unveiling were patrons, restaurant staff, the chain’s mascot Farmer Boy Roy, Perris Mayor Pro-Tem Joanne Evans, Farmer Boys President and Chief Operating Officer Ken Clark and the chain’s founders, the Havadjias family.

“The city of Perris is the greatest city in the world,” Demetris Havadjias said, thanking “the great people of California for supporting us for so many years.”

Clark said that the restaurant’s founders flew in from Cyprus to attend the festivities.

“It’s just great to see the support from the community here today,” Clark said.

Farmer Boys serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at its 66 units in five counties in southern and central California and two locations in Nevada.
